Walter Mcguire: Without the first story, there is no story

A proud descendant of several tribal groups from the South West of Western Australia, Walter McGuire is a Traditional Owner of Nyoongar Boodjar, which includes the Whadjuk lands where Perth City, Western Australia’s capital now stands.

Walter is a passionate advocate for self-determination and a living example of its power. He graduated from Curtin University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (ACM DP) and later earned a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (2015).

After a successful career as a lecturer and mentor, Walter chose to channel his energy into building his own business, working just as hard for himself as he had for others

Today, Walter is the owner and operator of the multi-award-winning tourism business, Go Cultural Aboriginal Tours and Experiences. His company offers visitors to Perth authentic cultural experiences at iconic locations such as Elizabeth Quay, Kings Park, Yagan Square, and Rottnest Island.

As the principal guide and Traditional Owner of the Perth region, Walter is dedicated to providing world-class walking tours and cultural experiences that connect local, interstate, and international visitors to the rich heritage of Aboriginal culture.

Through his tours, cultural presentations, and advisory services, Walter has made it his mission to preserve and promote Aboriginal culture, leaving a lasting impact on the tourism industry and beyond
